About Carondelet Farm

David Bernsen established Carondelet Farm in the early 1990′s in Ramona, California near San Diego after purchasing the property from the Estate of the legendary actor Jimmy Cagney.

A complete rennovation was conducted while maintaining the look and feel from the 1950′s when the Cagney family used the the property as their base when attending the Del Mar races.

The property became home to Raging Apalachee, the dam of the American Champion Sprinter ARTAX.

Carondelet Farm has bred or owned numerous Graded and Group winners including Gr1 winner HEIR KITTY, Gr1 winner UNBRIDLED COMMAND, Gr1 winner ARTAX, Gr1 winner VOILA ICI, Gr1 winner SANAGAS, Gr1 winner in USA/Gr2 winner in Australia HONOR IN WAR, Gr1 placed/Gr3 winner KINDERGARDEN KID, Gr1 Irish Derby runner-up/Gr3 winner ALEXANDER OF HALES, French Group Stakes-winner SET ALIGHT, and stakes-placed Secret Cove.
